Most topics are easy to understand on this site, but there are a few things you need to know.
Words in a different shade of green are referring to the words in Dutch on the original page.
There are 2 possibilities to get information from this site:
Browsing :
If you want to browse in a certain country, select it by clicking on the name in the navigator on the left-hand side of the screen
and then click on the county you want to look at, under “ online ”.
You will see a short overview of the campsites. If you would like you see more details per campsite, click on more
info (“ meer info ”). This is the county where you can find the details of the site,
including some pictures, if available.
If you would like to print a single page, just click on the printer icon on top of the screen in the black strip.
This will produce a nice printed copy of the details. A map of the county is also available; this could be useful for planning your trip.
You can print a copy from the same screen as where the overview of the counties is shown.
There are 3 possible links:
- Go to the details page of a site (see above on how to get there) and look for the
icon under “
site-code: ” If the campsite has its own internet page (name is shown in blue),
you can click on the link to open it.
- Get information on the county, the city or village; go to the sites of the local tourist offices, activities and so on.
Click on the name of the city when it’s blue.
- Find out about the weather for the next 5 days. Click on the county of your interest with the
icon.
Furthermore there is also the possibility to use shortcuts. On the left-hand side of the screen you will find, under the navigator,
3 fields marked " plaatsnaam ", " site-code
" and " trefwoord ". If you key in the name of the village or city you want to go to,
type it in under “ plaatsnaam ”. If you know the site code of a site,
type it in under " site-code ". For a general search,
type a search word under " trefwoord ".
Just press enter or click on the icon next to the field to start your search. NOTE: for Germany the special signs for some letters have been removed, e.g. if you want to search for Köln, just type Koln, if you want to search for Münster, just type Munster. This is also valid for other countries, e.g. for the ç character just use c.
Printing:
If you would like to print one or more maps of the counties, select the country from the navigator on the left hand side, click on the " download : pdf pagina " and select one of the three possibilities:
- Landkaart van … is the map of the country, indicating all counties, conveniently printed on one page, for you to put in your folder with routes and travel documents.
- Detail kaart van … is the road map of the county, with the campsites marked in black, green and orange, roads and some places in yellow. These are to help you to quickly orientate where you are on the map. Normally there is one map per county, unless stated differently, some counties are combined on one map because of the relatively small number of campsites in these counties, or split up because of the large number of campsites in that county.
- Overzicht camperplaatsen … Looks almost the same as the online overview but with more information necessary to get there. All printable pages are built in PDF format. You would need a special reader in order to be able to print them which you can find here in your local language. Choose for the basic version of the program and make sure you select the proper version (windows or Mac). After double-clicking the PDF file, your PC will open it and you will be able to save it locally on your hard disk or memory stick (easy to take with you on your trip) or you can choose to print it off. After selecting the option to print, you could select to print only from page 2 onwards, page 1 is the same in all PDF files, and it just shows you an explanation of the icons printed in the details of a site.
Some words of advice:
- Start printing off the pages close to your trip so that you always have the latest information available with you. While at home you have the opportunity to surf and get the latest information!
- In order to get the best results, print the map in color, and print the rest in black and white. If you can select the resolution on your printer, select 720dpi, otherwise select “best quality”
If you have any problems using this guide, or getting around with the site, mail us and we will do our very best to get you going!
Good luck and happy camping!
